MIGRAINE AND WEIGHT LOSS WORKSHOP
Online webinar: Saturday 16 January 2021 at 2pmAEST
Cost: $69
RSVP: By 14 January

Once upon a time, I felt frustrated with my body. I felt heavy and full of self-loathing. I was always tired and relied on coffee and sugar to get through the day. I craved all the wrong things. Then I would feel guilty about the food choices I was making for myself and my family.

I was also tired of migraine ruining my life. The pain, the brain fog, the nausea, the need to switch off from the world to hide in a dark room. And I was frustrated that migraines meant I was not able to be fully present for my family, work, and my friends.

Migraines also made it difficult to exercise or prepare healthy meals, and so I continued to gain weight and feel heavy and sluggish. Sometimes I would try weight loss programmes, but they would make my migraine worse. I felt like crap and like a terrible mum, partner, friend and employee.

One Tuesday, I had enough. All weekend I had a migraine, and Monday was such a struggle at work. I was fighting with my family because I was tired and cranky. I felt out of control, and as a natural health practitioner, I knew there had to be a better way to manage both migraine and weight gain.

Enough was enough. I committed to researching as much as I could about nutrition protocols suitable for weight loss and migraine. What I discovered was incredibly simple and effective and aligned with my training as a naturopath. I just had to apply some of these principles to myself, and it was life changing.

Imagine feeling vibrant, light, and energetic. You bounce out of bed with enthusiasm for life. Your clothes fit beautifully. And you are actually craving health foods.

And imagine being able to make plans, knowing that a migraine is unlikely.

Migraine is one of the most common neurological disorders found in women, affecting approximately 15% of Australian women. Menstrual migraines are thought to account for 60% of migraines experienced by women. Present throughout a woman’s lifespan, but especially during the reproductive years, migraine can severely impact a woman’s quality of life – just when they need to be present for their careers, family and wanting to live their best life ever.

Many women living with migraine are also struggling with weight. Living with migraine can make it difficult to make the changes required to lose weight. Vigorous exercise is off the table, and you need to keep your body well nourished to reduce migraine attacks.

If you are a woman struggling with migraine and excess weight, I have good news: there is hope! You can reduce your symptoms, frequency, and severity of migraines through certain weight loss protocols, lifestyle change and natural treatment approaches.

Education and awareness about migraine and effective is where the recovery starts. Knowledge is power!
I believe it is important for women to educate themselves about their condition, and then consult with a team of practitioners to help manage their migraines and weight – naturally.
